Setting up a Wyoming S Corporation

wyomingI’m just going to come right out and say it. S-corporations can save small business owners up to 15% on their first $120,000 of profit. That’s why I like them so much. It’s a simple tax designation that can save you thousands each year.

You don’t have to necessarily go to an accountant or an attorney. Or one of the online document service web sites. I’m not knocking those options. In fact, in complex situations, paying for the right person’s advice could very well be worth exponentially more than whatever consultation fee you may pay.

But if it isn’t a complex scenario, you can probably do it yourself. In less time. For less money.

Our Wyoming S Corporation kit

You will receive instructions to create the entity in Wyoming and make the federal s-election with the IRS. We even include samples of the forms you will be filling out, for those of you who are more visual learners. We even go over the little things, like getting an EIN and provide templates to use for your LLC operating agreement or corporate bylaws.

If you are sitting there wondering which entity you should use as a base, we recommend the LLC. They provide some tax flexibility that corporations don’t during the startup phase, especially if you are unsure of your early revenues. They also generally have fewer filing requirements.
