Setting up a Colorado S Corporation

coloradoLiving the good life as an entrepreneur in Colorado? Thinking about it? What scenery. But, I digress. Are you in consulting? The tech industry? Don’t just settle for protecting your assets as an LLC, focus on those potential tax savings as well. A Subchapter S-Corporation may help you eliminate 15.3% of self-employment taxes you pay on your businesses profits.

You don’t need to go to LegalZoom or an attorney, you can do it yourself with our Colorado S Corporation kit.  It walks you through the steps of forming your base entity  — an LLC or corporation.  Step-by-step instructions, with examples of how to fill out the necessary forms with the state.  It’ll also help with the federal Form 2553 to make the s-election with the IRS and even the little things, like getting an EIN and templates of the organization documents like corporate bylaws or operating agreement, that are required to manage the entity.

Our Colorado S Corporation kit

We mentioned earlier there were two base entities, so we have two different kits available. Not sure which one is right for you? You should probably go with the limited liability company option. It’ll protect personal assets and generally has fewer requirements than a corporation.  And less red tape makes things easier on you.

This LLC version of the kit is available below:

And of course that makes the corporation version of the kit available here:
